Around the word and back again

Forever and Ever. That's how much I love my mom. My mother is definitely the top 3 most important people in my life, and today marks a very special day for my family. 8 years ago on Friday, February 13, my mother received the call we had been waiting months for. There was a heart on it's way to UCLA Medical Center just for her. A new heart for Valentines Day!

This was 4 years after the transplant (my mother was always behind the camera, and we still don't hear the end of it) So I wasn't able to locate a picture before the transplant. But look at how beautiful she is, and none of this would be possible if the donor's family hadn't decided to donate his organs. We got the call at 3:33am and I remember my dad telling me as they were leaving, having a heart transplant at UCLA is like going to the dentist, you're going to come out alive. That's what kept me comfort, and still to this day I never have not worried that anything could go wrong, because everyone leaves the dentist office alive. The power of prayer and the love of family and friends got my family through. Life went along as normal, I didn't miss any dance classes or school, my brother got to all his soccer practices, and this amazing miracle happened to the most deserving woman. My love goes around the world and back again, forever and ever.

Happy Heart Day Mommy!!
